Description
The Diensteinheit IX was East German equivalent of GSG9. Raised in secrecy after Munich Massacre and in response to the rising crime rate in the DDR, they were an elite counterterrorism force. Equipped with the best weaponry they had access to western firearms and based their training on intelligence reports of similar western forces. Often used for sensitive policing and protection tasks, they also pursued Soviet Army deserters. This range leads itself to many interesting game ideas, doubtless should WW3 and large fighting have broken out in the 1980s they would have been used as elite urban combat troops too.
